    Kamal Khan, the Lucknow bureau chief of the news channel NDTV, died on Friday morning 14th January 2022 after suffering a heart attack. He was 61.

    NDTV journalist and executive editor Kamal Khan passed away on Friday at the age of 61. The journalist apparently had a heart attack at his residence in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. NDTV confirmed the news on their Twitter handle.

    A day before his death, Khan reported to NDTV India on the UP election.


    "We are all devastated by the loss of Kamal Khan, an NDTV veteran and one of the country's best journalists," the channel said on Twitter.




    Khan's reporting "stood out for his perceptiveness, integrity and the way he delivered hard truths with poetic dexterity", NDTV said.


    "As a news anchor, Kamal was the picture of self-control and expertise, and his language was known for its brand elegance, an attraction in its own right," the channel said. "Above all, he was a wonderful and generous man who had only kind words and unlimited time for anyone who met him."

    Several journalists and political leaders have expressed their condolences on Khan's death. India Today TV's consulting editor Rajdeep Sardesai said Khan spoke "like a poet with complete command of the language".


    Several other journalists also remembered his unique way of reporting.


    NDTV's senior executive editor, Ravish Kumar, said there would be no other journalist like Kamal Khan.


    Nawab Malik, spokesman for the Nationalist Congress Party, also expressed his condolences to Khan's family. "May the Almighty give him the highest rank in Jannah," he said.
